Is life after surgery hard??
People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas. ~Author Unknown

All and all I know that eventually once I get past 100 calories intake a day I will have more energy. So far... I just have to be patient and do what must be done, and how much of it I can do.
I will tell you... keep real friends super close, and use them as much as they have time available.
Sweetie, the best way that I can explain this is to say, you will simply be a smaller version of the person you are now. For example, if you have emotional issues or a bad marriage or a nasty personality now, you will have them then as well. Weight loss surgery does not fix all of life's problems (and I know you know that logically) but emotionally, we often feel that things are going to be SOOOO much easier and yes, many things are. It's easier to move, breath, work, have sex, have babies, buy clothes, wear shoes, run, dance get into and out of your car and countless other things. All of those things are worth looking forward to, but like anything else you are who you are and life is life.
Often weight loss surgery is a catalyst that propels people forward. Maybe they were once too shy to talk to people and now, with their new found confidence, have gotten past that. Maybe it inspires you to take on a new job or project or to travel or even to leave a bad relationship or situation. But what it won't do, is make all of your issues go away. You still need to work on the internal you as the external you melts away.
For example: As a 30+ years low carber, I used to order eggs anywhere thinking I was good.
2 eggs at my house are about 160 cal and I only use Egglands lower cholesterol eggs
I go to Denny's and 2 regular eggs add 80 calories of fat and cholesterol bringing the calories to 240.
I try and keep things in the 1250 calorie range. Eating those eggs out instead of at home I've used 20% of the day's total calories. I never even stopped to think of food that way before wls. I hate tracking but it works. I'm prone to insane periods of weight gain or protracted stalls. Details tell me if it is what I'm doing or my metabolism slowing my wl.
I will have to monitor my eating forever to maintain once I hit goal. Thats a pain in the @$$. But for me thats the worst of it. I can deal with foods I can no longer eat, occaisional dumping etc. Those are easy for me to work around.

LV'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT.
With all that said I say the goods out way the bad by a mile and I would do it again. Not only just to be able to shop in "REGULAR" size clothes stores but to be able to cross my legs and sit indian style (as I am doing right now typing this letter) and the best to see peoples faces when I tell then that this time 2 yrs ago I was over 300 lbs.
So take your new life by the hand and enjoy the ride you are going to be experiencing.
